This is an exceptional example of Triumph’s introduction to V8 power. exceptionally refinished in its factory original colour of Saphire Blue with an excellent medium blue bucket interior. Uniquely this Stag was recently purchased from the original owner, this European spec example was Sold new in Breda Holland , purchased by a Canadian Industrialist who was operating a company in Holland at the time. Purchased new and used by himself and his Sales manager, in three short years had logged 75,000 kilometers traveling thru out Europe. The Stag was shipped back to Canada in 1977 where it was met with opposition by the Canadian government, as regulations indicated the car was not admissible to Canadian standards. With much documentation available between the owner and the Canadian government, it was decided to properly store the car for over 20 years and re-commission the car as an “antique”.
The original owner at 87 years old decided to part with his originally owned European purchased Stag. Today with only 81,631 kilometers the car stands as a mostly original car that has seen a proper refinish on an exceptional solid example. Mechanically it has been properly maintained and serviced as needed. This example is equipped with original 3.0 liter V8 , four speed manual transmission with functioning electronic overdrive, power steering, brakes and windows. The Stag was V8 powered, four seats, open roadster styling and Michelotti styling.
Unlike Triumphs counterparts, the Stag was a methodically designed and implemented GT Grand Touring cruiser, a well balanced example that handles and holds the road unlike any other Triumph of the day.
The 3.0-litre V8 majors on low-down torque, making it ideal for covering long distances, and produces a wonderful note from the exhaust that lends to the urge to keep driving once behind the wheel of this V8 powered Brit bruiser.
Includes the original factory hardtop and a recently replaced black hartz cloth convertible top, as well as all original owners manual, service and warranty books all produced in Dutch.
This one owner unique example is a stunning example that is an addictive treat to drive.
