An exceptionally well kept ‘survivour’ Olds Vista Cruiser Station Wagon.
This example is extremely original with the exception a of one high quality exterior refinish in correct and original colour of Saffron Yellow.
The Vista Cruiser wagons manufactured and marketed by the Oldsmobile Division of General Motors from 1964 to 1977 and noted for its fixed-glass, roof-mounted skylight over its second-row seating with sun visors for the second row passengers, a raised roof behind the skylight and lateral glass panels over the rear cargo area along the raised roof. The sky lights are Oldsmobile exclusive and a highly desirable feature that have endured a cult following for years.
This Olds was sold new in Idaho and clearly led a gifted life since. A virtually corrosion free example entirely, this wagon is a tidy well kept original. There has been one sympathetic high quality refinish in the factory correct and original Saffron Yellow. The finish is excellent with great coverage depth and high shine. The lower faux wood grain is all original (testimony to the excellence of the original rust free body) Bottoms of the doors, rockers and door jambs are original paint and show great with no signs of issue. All stainless trim surrounding wood grain is excellent and original as is stainless flashing around windows., including roof panel sky lights. The front and rear bumpers have been triple dip re plated and show well.Factory stainless door edge guards and stainless wheel opening moldings and lower rocker. Grill work is all excellent. All panel fit is excellent and all five doors close with a bank vault sure-ness. Undercarriage is untouched and shows very dry and completely corrosion free.
The interior is completely original and in amazingly fine condition, including all original carpets, and factory original Oldsmobile scripted rubber mats.. All seat upholstery , door panels and headliner, dash and dash pad are original and all in excellent condition free of an rips , tears or repairs. The rear cargo area including fold down rear seat is also completely original and shows extremely well and fully intact.
Under hood sits the ever popular Olds Rocket JetFire V8 330 cubic inch displacement with * barrel carburetor and matched to an automatic transmission. The engine and engine bay has benefited from a fresh high dollar, high quality correct detail treatment. Has received a new master cylinder, and brake booster, new re-cored radiator, correct colour repainted engine block and valve covers, all hoses and belts replaced with correct OEM all clamps and brackets are factory correct , inner fenders detailed as well as firewall and rad supports. All labels and script stickers correctly replaced and original air breather with detailed Jet Fire Decal
This Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser is an exceptional example, with many original characteristics. Great factory refinish , excellent brite work a remarkable original interior. Highly detailed engine and engine bay, outstanding original dry and solid example including complete floors and undercarriage. This cult following VIsta Cruiser is very tight and nimble on the road, a car you could confidently drive with comfort across the country.
