1939 Packard 120 ’8′ Club Coupe with only 37,300 all original miles. This outstanding Packard is an all original example aside from a high quality re-finish in its correct factory original color of Centennial Blue. The sympathetic refinish is likely 20 yeas old but truly shows like day one quality. Correctly hand painted pinstripe was laid on to accentuate authenticity. The interior of this 37,300 mile Packard is equal in outstanding, condition boasting all original seat upholstery, excellent art-deco dash with excellent chrome trim steering wheel, and original wood gaining. Still retains the original black rubber floor mat front and rear. The Club Coupe model offered the ‘stow and go’ fold up rears seats allowing for rear passenger, or folded up giving storage space for the traveling sales man. Chrome and stainless is all original and shows well with expected patina in great un-touched condition. This time capsule was has been in the care of only a handful of collectors over the last 70 plus years. This Packard has obviously been a ‘special pet’ likely from new. The undercarriage inspection indicates an absolutely 100% corrosion free example, as does the body including trunk and door edge bottoms. all factory original and free of any corrosion or repair, truly an exceptional example. The ’120′ models where equipped with Packard’s absolutely iron-clad flat head straight eight motor. The engine and engine bay are all original to the car including correct oil bathe air breather carburetor etc. It appears that along the way someones has choose to repaint the motor grey in color. The wheels are original and are finished in correct body color with correct three pinstripe , fitted with original ‘Packard Eight’ script center hub caps and correct style ribbed trim rings accentuate the period wheel. Wrapped in brand new correct width Wide White Wall Firestone bias plys. Teh spacious trunk is completely original including an original US Royal spare tire from the period as well as oriignal jack and tools found in Packard script burlap stowage bag. Nothing can top an all original un-abused example especially in a Packard, to close these doors likens the closing of a bank vault door with a sound of sureness. Mechanically this Packard has recently been sorted, with refurbished fuel system, new battery, brand new Firestone Tires, front king pins rebuilt, brakes including wheel cylinders, shoes and hoses. This Packard inline 8 cylinder always starts and easy and runs and drives like you should expect from a low mile Packard. This is truly an opportunity to experience a piece of Automotive Americana history at its best.
